The establishment of Navy Medical College, Chattogram (NMCC) marks a new milestone in the journey of Bangladesh Navy and the nation’s higher education sector. With the guiding principles of discipline, dedication, and service to humanity, NMCC has been envisioned as a center of excellence in medical education that blends academic rigor with the naval ethos of integrity and commitment.
The college has received Approval in Principle and Academic Approval from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, following an on-site evaluation conducted by a distinguished team comprising representatives from the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME), the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), and respected Deans of medical faculties of public universities. This recognition stands as a testimony to the high standards of planning, infrastructure, and preparedness that the institution embodies.
In its design, facilities, and curriculum delivery, NMCC strives to match — and even exceed — the highest standards of medical education in Bangladesh. The academic building and residential hostels, built to state-of-the-art specifications, are nearly complete and ready to welcome the first batches of students. Laboratories and dissection halls are equipped with the latest models and instruments, while the simulation laboratory — the first of its kind to be launched from the very inception of a medical college in Bangladesh — ensures practical learning through modern technology.
Our academic hospital, BNS Patenga, a well-equipped naval hospital staffed by skilled professionals, has been designated as the teaching hospital of NMCC. This guarantees that our students will be exposed to the best practices of clinical medicine in a highly professional and safe environment.
As part of the greater family of institutions run by the Bangladesh Navy, NMCC is committed not only to excellence in academics but also to the holistic development of its students. With a disciplined residential environment, strong emphasis on character building, international-standard sports facilities, and a culture of co-curricular enrichment, NMCC promises to nurture future physicians who will be competent, compassionate, and globally respected.
